Fishing in Florida

Fishing in Florida has been one of many adventures I have been able to partake in since I have moved here. During the spring I had a few friends come down to soak up the rays and they had the opportunity to check out the deep seas in the Gulf of Mexico. I’ve been able to go shark hunting and reel in some big aggressive species in addition to catching some to throw on the grill. My cousin and I took part in a charter so we could test our skills at sea. The best part of all is that I have been able to do it with my kids.

I taught my kids how to fish from the pier and from the surf. This is such an inexpensive way to spend quality time together and the best part of all is you’re at the beach. In addition to teaching them how to fish, they also learned how to clean and prepare a meal out of the catch of the day. I’m trying to live the proverb of teaching a man to fish in the literal. Spending time with them has been a blast and watching them pick up the skills of angling has been a true adventure.
